Source: Peru, Brazil, Central America (Honduras, Guatemalan, Nicaragua), Mexico, and Jamica. Sapele varies from light reddish or yellowish-brown to rich, dark red, depending upon the country of origin. Mostly yellowish-tan. A considerable variety of figures can be found in it's pattern, similar to African Mahogany except crotches are not readily available.
Exceptional Stable Uses: Furniture, paneling, fine joinery, boats, ships, pattern-making, exterior uses.
